Building a large database driven social media real estate web application. Technologies include, MySQL, PHP Zend Framework, JQuery for AJAX driven web interface, Flash Actionscript 3 Views for rich media content, Linux Ubuntu server configuration for development hosting, active site testing and demonstration. iPhone, Symbian, Android and Java mobile application development. Server hosting uses Amazon Web Services (EC2 and S3).

Worked on a concept to prove the ability to capture near HD quality video from Canon DSLR cameras without video capture function. The cameras included the Canon 400D, 40D, 50D, 1Ds Mark III. The device used a single board computer running windows xpe (embedded), the software was written in C++ using Nokia's QT framework.

Worked for a startup company developing a prototype iPhone application. The application developed used many current Web 2.0 hardware and software solutions. These include: SQL, XML, PHP, Apache and Amazon Web Services.

Contractor work for IT support company in Aspen, CO. Provide network installation and support, Server configuration and support, Misc computer use training and education.

Assisted Prime Films with Artistic (Photoshop and PowerPoint) and IT support work as a four-day contractor for a multi brand event held at the St. Regis Hotel in Aspen. Brands present in the event included: Ralph-Lauren, Armani, Diesel, etc.

Completed four weeks telecommunications networks training with Telkom SA in the Western Cape area. The outcome was a sound understanding of South Africa’s telecommunications network from a corporate point of view.

Worked on an existing RADAR Simulation package called SARSIM II. Completed some functionality additions and upgrades. The outcome was a better functioning simulator which is now used for teaching and research purposes of RADAR configurations. All upgrades and production programming were performed in C++. Additional prototyping was performed with Matlab.

Run a computer sales company specializing in Laptop, Desktop PC’s and Server resale at reasonable cost. Also provide webdesign and programming.

A business partner and I were involved in upgrading and networking new computers purchased. The existing server was reconfigured to run an up-to-date operating system and all original software was migrated across to the new setup. Migration of desktops from Win98 to WinXP - this involved building the OS images from scratch and migrating user data to the new build machines. Installed the network - this ranged from cabling in comms cabinets to floor ports, installing and configuring network devices.

I was the server administrator for the my residence at the University of Cape Town. While in this role, I was involved in the installation and setup of a Linux Server (SUSE) for DNS, Mail and web services.
